Description

Arachis glabrataa

This pretty groundcover does not actually produce peanuts, but it does produce gold-colored flowers! Plus, it can be used as a turf replacement in the lawn!


Water Requirements: Tolerates range of water conditions, but it is best to let the soil dry out between waterings. Drought resistant.

Soil: Dry, sandy soil that is well-draining.

Growth Rate: Fast

Pruning: Once established perennial peanut can be mowed.

Tips: Perennial Peanut is resistant to nematodes and common lawn diseases, and typically does not require fertilizer. This makes it a great alternative to grass for a lawn.
