This deciduous shrub is quick growing and can become a beautiful small-sized tree with its vigorous lilac blooms.
Water Requirements: Deep, consistent watering is required, especially during the first few years. Try to space out waterings, but water more in the summer and less in the winter.
Soil: Loose, well-draining soil.
Growth Rate: Fast
Bloom Time: Late Spring to Summer
Temperature: Does well in heat, is hardy to below freezing.
Pruning: Prune in late winter to control growth. Chaste Trees can be cut back to the ground if desired; it will grow back vigorously!
Tips: Chaste Tree is a great replacement for lilac, which has trouble growing in the Florida heat!
