Callistemon spp.

A popular drought-resistant perrenial, this unique shrub produces bottle-brush like bright red blooms and attracts hummingbirds!

Water Requirements: Low to moderate water needs. Drought tolerant once established.

Soil: Well draining soil

Growth Rate: Moderate

Bloom Time: Year round except when cold.

Temperature: Cold hardy, but will not survive prolonged freezes. Prefers high temperatures with high humidity.

Pruning: Extensive pruning should be done in late winter. Otherwise, light pruning can be done any time to keep neat.
