Easter Lily (Lilium longiflorum) is a classic, elegant plant known for its large, trumpet-shaped white flowers and sweet fragrance. Often associated with spring and symbolizing renewal, it's commonly used in holiday displays but also thrives in garden beds when planted outdoors after blooming.
Care Needs:
- Light: Bright, indirect light indoors; full sun to partial shade outdoors
- Water: Moderate; keep soil evenly moist but not soggy
- Temperature: Prefers cool to moderate temperatures; protect from frost
- Soil: Well-draining, rich soil
- Maintenance: Remove spent blooms and yellowing foliage; cut back after flowering
- Fertilizer: Use a balanced fertilizer during active growth
- Note: Can be transplanted outdoors after blooming for continued enjoyment
Due to a toxin called lycorine, this plant toxic to both humans and pets if ingested.
