Abelia (Abelia × grandiflora) is a semi-evergreen shrub valued for its glossy foliage and clusters of small, fragrant, tubular flowers that attract pollinators. With a naturally arching form and long blooming season, it adds softness and color to borders, hedges, and foundation plantings throughout much of the year in Northeast Florida.
Care Needs:
• Light: Full sun to partial shade
• Water: Keep soil evenly moist when young; once established, water during extended dry periods
• Pruning: Lightly prune after flowering to maintain shape and encourage dense growth
• Fertilizer: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring
