Leopard Plant (Farfugium japonicum), also commonly known as ligularia or tractor seat plant, is a shade-tolerant perennial valued for its large, rounded, glossy green leaves often spotted or variegated with yellow. In North Florida landscapes, it works well as a groundcover, accent, or container plant, adding texture and color to shaded areas.
Care Needs:
• Light: Partial shade to full shade
• Water: Moderate; keep soil evenly moist but well-drained
• Pruning: Remove old or damaged leaves to maintain tidy appearance
• Fertilizer: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in spring
