Eriobotrya japonica, commonly known as loquat, is an evergreen fruit tree prized for its sweet, tangy fruit and glossy, tropical-looking foliage. Fun fact: unlike most fruit trees, loquats bloom in the fall and winter, with fruit ripening in early spring, making them one of the first fresh fruits of the season. They are also valued as attractive shade and ornamental trees.
