Ageratum (Ageratum houstonianum), also commonly known as floss flower, is a warm-season annual valued for its soft, fuzzy blooms in shades of blue, purple, pink, and white. With a compact growth habit and long flowering season, it provides consistent color in borders, containers, and mass plantings throughout spring and summer in North Florida and South Georgia landscapes.
Care Needs:
• Light: Full sun to partial shade
• Water: Keep soil evenly moist but well-drained; avoid prolonged soggy conditions
• Pruning: Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering and compact growth
• Fertilizer: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer at planting and as needed during the growing season
