Ajuga reptans, commonly known as ajuga or bugleweed, is a low-growing evergreen perennial prized for its colorful foliage and dense carpet of spring flowers. Its spreading habit makes it an excellent groundcover for borders, woodland gardens, slopes, and areas where grass is difficult to grow. Many cultivars also offer attractive bronze, burgundy, or variegated foliage for season-long interest.

Care Needs:
• Light: Partial sun to shade (tolerates full sun with adequate moisture)
• Water: Water regularly until established; once established, water during extended dry periods
• Pruning: Remove spent flower spikes after blooming and trim runners as needed to control spread
• Fertilizer: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring if needed; overly fertile soil may encourage excessive spreading
