Echinacea spp., commonly known as coneflower, is a hardy perennial prized for its large, daisy-like flowers with distinctive raised centers. Available in shades of purple, pink, white, yellow, orange, and red, it provides long-lasting color while attracting butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. Its drought tolerance and low-maintenance nature make it an excellent choice for borders, pollinator gardens, and naturalized landscapes.
Care Needs:
• Light: Full sun
• Water: Water regularly until established; once established, water during extended dry periods
• Pruning: Deadhead spent blooms to encourage additional flowering or leave seed heads for birds; cut back in late winter
• Fertilizer: Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring; avoid excessive fertilization
