Beautyberry (Callicarpa americana) is a deciduous shrub native to Florida and much of the southeastern United States, celebrated for its striking clusters of bright purple berries that appear in late summer and fall. These vibrant berries, which persist after the foliage drops, create a dramatic pop of color in the landscape and are a favorite food source for birds and wildlife. With its arching branches, soft green leaves, and seasonal showiness, Beautyberry works beautifully as a specimen plant, in mixed borders, or in naturalized gardens.
Care Needs:
- Light: Full sun to partial shade; best berry production in full sun

- Temperature: Hardy in USDA zones 6–10
- Growth Rate: Moderate
- Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring to encourage new growth and maintain shape
- Fertilizer: Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring for healthy foliage and berry production
