Camellia sinensis, commonly known as the tea camellia or tea plant, is an evergreen shrub grown for the young leaves used to produce green, black, oolong, white, and matcha teas. The difference between these teas comes from how the leaves are processed—not from different plants—making tea camellia one of the world's most important cultivated crops as well as an attractive ornamental shrub.

• Light: Partial sun to full sun (afternoon shade is beneficial in hotter climates)
