This native Holly is excellent for a well-structured, evergreen canopy tree that stays relatively small.
Water Requirements: Moderate. Does best with high moisture, tolerant of soggy conditions. Tree quality fades in dry conditions.
Soil: Moisture-retaining soil.
Growth Rate: Moderate
Bloom Time: Red berries in wintertime given cross-pollination.
Temperature: Cold and heat tolerant. Does not drop leaves.
Pruning: Best pruned in winter or spring.
Toxicity: Low toxicity if berries ingested by pets.
Tips: Having two Dahoon Holly trees will result in bright red berries in wintertime!
