Firespike (Odontonema cuspidatum), also commonly known as cardinal’s guard, is a tropical shrub valued for its tall spikes of bright red flowers and large, deep green leaves. Commonly used as a seasonal accent or backdrop plant in North Florida landscapes, firespike adds strong color in fall and attracts pollinators when in bloom.
Care Needs:

• Water: Moderate; water regularly, especially during dry periods
