Build your color combination
Think about your favorite team’s colors, then build your landscape around two or three shades using colorful plants and complimentary materials.
For a classic red and black combination inspired by UGA, pair red hibiscus or jatropha with black mulch. The dark mulch creates a strong backdrop for bright blooms and gives the landscape a crisp, defined look.
For Florida blue and orange, try combining blue daze with orange canna lilies or crossandra. The contrast between cool blue and warm orange makes both colors stand out and creates a lively combination for sunny landscape beds.
Looking for a garnet-and-gold-inspired look? Burgundy loropetalum paired with brown pea gravel creates a more understated interpretation of those colors. The deep foliage brings the color while the warm-toned gravel adds texture without competing with the plants.
For a blue and white combination, blue daze or plumbago paired with white river rock or white gomphrena creates a clean, high-contrast landscape that feels especially fresh in the summer.
Make it your own
You don't have to redesign your entire yard to bring in some game day spirit. A few colorful plants around the entryway, a refreshed garden bed, or a new combination of mulch and decorative rock can make a noticeable difference.
