Persea americana, commonly known as the avocado tree, is an evergreen fruit tree prized for its creamy, nutrient-rich fruit and attractive glossy foliage. Fun fact: avocados are botanically classified as berries because they develop from a single flower and contain one large seed. With proper care, a mature tree can produce hundreds of avocados in a single season.
