Bambusa, Fargesia, Phyllostachys, and other bamboo genera, commonly known as bamboo, are fast-growing ornamental grasses prized for their graceful canes, lush evergreen foliage, and versatility in the landscape. Depending on the variety, bamboo can be used as a privacy screen, windbreak, specimen plant, or container accent. Clumping varieties are well-suited for most residential landscapes, while running varieties should be planted with appropriate barriers to control their spread.

Care Needs:
• Light: Full sun to partial sun (depending on variety)
• Water: Water regularly until established; once established, water during extended dry periods
• Pruning: Remove dead or damaged canes as needed and thin older canes to improve appearance and airflow
• Fertilizer: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in spring and again in early summer to encourage healthy growth
