Diascia (Diascia barberae and hybrids), commonly known simply as twinspur, is a delicate, free-flowering annual valued for its soft, pastel blooms and compact, mounding habit. Producing abundant flowers in shades of pink, salmon, coral, lavender, and white, it provides long-lasting color in garden beds, borders, and containers. In North Florida and South Georgia, diascia performs best in cooler seasons with full sun to partial sun and well-drained soil.
Care Needs:
• Light: Full sun to partial sun
• Water: Keep soil evenly moist but well-drained; avoid allowing soil to dry out completely during active growth
• Pruning: Lightly trim or shear plants after a heavy bloom flush to encourage new growth and continued flowering
• Fertilizer: Apply a balanced fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season to maintain steady blooms
