Impatiens (Impatiens walleriana), commonly known as busy Lizzie, is a popular shade-loving annual prized for its vibrant, long-lasting flowers and lush foliage. Blooming in shades of red, pink, white, purple, and salmon, impatiens provide continuous color in garden beds, borders, and containers where shaded conditions prevail. Their compact, mounding habit makes them ideal for mass plantings or container displays in areas that receive little direct sun.
Care Needs:
• Light: Partial sun to full shade
• Water: Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy; avoid allowing soil to dry completely
• Pruning: Remove spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering and lightly trim to maintain shape
• Fertilizer: Apply a balanced fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season to maintain steady blooms
