Oleander (Nerium oleander) is a fast-growing, evergreen shrub known for its clusters of fragrant, trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of pink, white, red, or yellow. Popular in warm climates, it creates a bold statement in hedges, borders, or large containers and blooms throughout the warmer months with minimal care.
Care needs:
- Light: Full sun for best flowering
- Water: Moderate; drought-tolerant once established
- Temperature: Thrives in warm climates; protect from hard frost
- Soil: Well-draining soil; tolerant of sandy and poor soils
- Maintenance: Prune to shape and remove spent blooms
- Fertilizer: Feed with balanced fertilizer in spring and mid-summer
All parts of Oleander are toxic to humans and animals if minimally ingested.
