Fragaria × ananassa, commonly known as strawberry, is a low-growing perennial prized for its sweet, juicy fruit and attractive white flowers. Strawberries are one of the first fruits to ripen each spring, making them a favorite for home gardens, raised beds, hanging baskets, and containers. With proper care, many varieties will continue producing fruit over an extended season in North Florida and South Georgia.
